Dr. Saad Saad is a successful surgeon who went to high school in Kuwait and originally thought he would study to become an engineer. After realizing that he would be working outside in Kuwait in the hot sun, he changed his mind and thought more about taking on a profession where he would be inside where it is cooler. That was where he got the idea to become a surgeon who would be able to operate in an air-conditioned room. Years later, he has succeeded in becoming a surgeon who practices out of the United States.
Dr. Saad Saad was once asked who his greatest mentor was and what he learned from that mentor. He replied that Dr. H Biemann Otherson who trained him as a pediatric surgeon was his greatest mentor. He also referred to Otherson as the greatest pediatric surgeon in the United States, and Dr. Saad Saad commented that he learned plenty from Otherson about how to a hard-working, honest, and kind pediatrician as well as the importance of treating all of the kids equally who came to him for their surgical needs; no matter what the color of their skin is, their mental condition, religion, or the amount of wealth that their parents have. Dr. Saad Saad is an inspiration to many people, and he believes that if he, as a struggling refuge from Palestine, can make it in the United States as a successful pediatrician, other people can too. He hopes to continue inspiring people through his actions and his track record as a pediatric surgeon.
